- A customer shows you a “too good to be true” email about getting free money from Nigeria, and asks you to help them seal the deal with their banking information.
I have received these pfhishing emails several times personally, and also had a patron at Igo who received such an email and asked what he should do about it. First, I recounted my own experiences and informed him about some "red flags" he could look for: poor English, misspellings, asking for personal information (SS No., bank account nos., etc). Then some critical thinking: why would
someone I don't know trust me with millions of their dollars in my bank account. Makes no sense.
